दिल्लीः हॉकी इंडिया के अध्यक्ष मोहम्मद मुश्ताक अहमद नेअपने पद से इस्तीफ़ा दे दिया है। उन्होंने इसकी वजह निजी एवं पारिवारिक बताया है। उनकी जगह हॉकी इंडिया के वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष ज्ञानेन्द्रो निंगोमबम को कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष नियुक्त कर दिया।
मुश्ताक के इस्तीफ़े का पत्र हॉकी इंडिया को सात जुलाई को मिला था, जिसमें उन्होंने निजी एवं पारिवारिक प्रतिबद्धताओं का हवाला देते हुए अपना पद छोड़ने की पेशकश की थी। इसको देखते हुए 10 जुलाई को हॉकी इंडिया की आपात बैठक बुलाई और मणिपुर के निंगोमबम को कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष नियुक्त कर दिया। मुश्ताक अहमद 2018 में अध्यक्ष बने थे।
आपको बता दें कि केंद्रीय खेल मंत्रालय ने उनके चुनाव को राष्ट्रीय खेल संहिता के कार्यकाल संबंधी दिशा-निर्देशों के विरुद्ध बताया था और उन्हें पद छोड़ने के लिये कहा था। खेल मंत्रालय ने पाया था कि 2018 में हुए चुनावों में मुश्ताक ने कार्यकाल संबंधी दिशा-निर्देशों का उल्लंघन किया था। मुश्ताक ने अध्यक्ष पद संभालने से पहले हॉकी इंडिया में महासचिव पद पर काम किया था।
